• Tactical Patrol Officer Course

The Tennessee Tactical Officers Association (TTOA) Tactical Patrol Officer Course is a one-week program designed to teach the skills and techniques for a patrol officer to respond to critical incidents. This course is intended to enhance the individual skills of the patrol level response to critical incidents; this course is not intended to be a replacement for a basic SWAT certification

This is a law enforcement / military only course. This is a TN POST compliant course.

  • Designated Marksman Course:

The TTOA Designated Marksmanship Course that focuses on basic precision rifle marksmanship skills, understanding the responsibilities of a marksman in critical incidents and emergency situations, as well as the importance of overwatch capabilities. Secondarily it will cover the gear and tools that aid marksmen in their duties. Upon the completion of this course students will be able to demonstrate their ability to engage threats out to 300 yards, they will understand the capabilities of their specific shooting platform and just as importantly, know when where why and how they’re able to deploy their skills as a designated marksman.

The completion of this course is not a certification for critical incident response or law enforcement sniper. It is the most basic level of competency for safely and legally engaging mid-range threats to life, and performing overwatch for other law enforcement personnel during high stress incidents.

  • Patrol Carbine Course

The TTOA Patrol Carbine Course is a 24 hour advanced patrol level training program structured to train law enforcement officers in the skills and techniques necessary for the effective deployment of the carbine in both planned and emergency operations. • Patrol Level TECC – Provided by Baer Solutions

This one day course focuses on the patrol level officer, and provides a rigorous and thorough look at an officers Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK), and begins introducing officers to the S.M.A.R.C.H algorithm of the TECC program. Primarily, instruction will focus on massive hemorrhage control and the phases of casualty care, primarily the direct threat care phase. Officers will be able to understand that the mission at hand takes priority through promoting the principle of self-aid then buddy aid, then using priorities of threats to dictate when the appropriate time to perform a casualty evacuation is. The medical concepts taught are validated by live-fire drills and scenarios on the range that will help the officer apply them to real world situations and tie the medical concepts into tactical concepts.

This course is a requirement for a TTOA Tactical Patrol Officer Certification.
