  • Tactical Officers TECC Response – Provided by Baer Solutions

This course provides the SWAT or Tactical Officer with two days of in-depth instruction through the entirety of the M.A.R.C.H algorithm (Massive Hemorrhage Control, Airway, Respirations, Circulation, Head Injury/Hypothermia), and the equipment/Individual First Aid Kits (IFAKs) necessary to support the medical procedures. Officers will receive instruction in the various phases of care, priorities of threats, and evacuation/rescue plans that support the medical interventions being taught. A full day of live-fire drills and scenarios on the range will help reinforce the medical procedures in a realistic environment, and help the officer tie the medical concepts into tactical concepts.

This course is a requirement for a TTOA Basic SWAT Officer Certification.

  • Tactical Medic Course - Provided by Baer Solutions

This 40 hour course is practitioner level course, intended for currently certified EMTs or higher for integration into service as a tactical medic. The first two phases of this course follow the basic format of our 2-day Tactical Officers TECC Response, but dives more deeply into the pathophysiology and “why” of the trauma events discussed throughout the TECC program. The first phase of the course focus on phases of care, priorities of threats, and casualty evacuation through the M.A.R.C.H algorithm.

During the second phase, we will take the skills learned in the first phase and apply and evaluate them through numerous live-fire drills and scenarios. This phase will build on shooting, cover and concealment, and movement and communication while providing aid. Again, we want the officer to know the “why,” as well as the “how” and “what.”

The third and final phase of instruction will focus on pathophysiology, learning skills specific to trauma resuscitation, and giving the officer ample time to establish the processes taught in previous phases, increasing the officer’s confidence. A final exercise will be used to evaluate the officer’s ability to manage a casualty, or casualties, during a high risk call out.

This course is a requirement for a TTOA Tactical Medical Certification.
